Watson's Warriors Pride!

Our shirts are in!  What a wonderful job Mrs. Chiuchiolo did in arranging this for us.  Thank you so much!  We will be debuting our shirts on Friday, November 1st at the Jog-a-Thon.  See you there!
Don't forget to keep getting those pledges!  The prizes are AWESOME this year!

Anti-bullying Campaign

We had two deputies from the Brevard County Sherriff's Department come by today to talk about bullying today. They talked with the students about the characteristics and different types of bullying.
The presentation was absolutely wonderful! Ask your child about it!

Sea Turtle Society Visitor

Friday morning we had a visitor from the Sea Turtle Society. She gave us a lot of important information about the various types of sea turtles and what we can do to help this endangered species.  The most important message that she gave the students is to help protect the turtles by RECYCLING! We can all do our part!

Busy Tuesday!

What a busy but productive Tuesday!  Some of you may remember the online program called Ten Marks from last year.  Well, I was all set to hand out the log in instructions when another teacher came across a site called adaptedmind.com.  The site is very similar to Ten Marks.  The students will have the opportunity during math, for one of their rotations, to practice math skills that the program has chosen for them based on a pre-test.  They can also work on the program AT HOME! While they are practicing skills, the program lets them know immediately if they have gotten the question corect.  If the student does not answer it correctly, the program will show them how to solve it correctly and even show them a Khan Academy tutorial!
So the great news is that I took the students into the computer lab to complete the pre-test.  Most of them were even able to continue practicing and earn badges based on the amount of correct answers.  Each student will bring home a letter explaining the log in process.  Once you have seen it, please sign it and return it to school.  Once I have seen it I will send it back home.

The students will also be coming home with several papers today.  One is the Federal Impact Aid Form.  Please, please, please (if you can) RETURN IT TOMORROW. The students will receive school as well as classroom incentives for returning it asap!
Lastly, the students earned their first popcorn party of the year!  We will have popcorn for our morning snack on Thursday.

Have a great night!

Hello everyone!
I'm slowly but surely making my way through all of the parent information forms.  Once I get them all organized I will add you to my group list and begin sending my daily emails!  In the meantime, I will attempt to update this as frequently as I can!

Tonight's homework:
* Math -pg. 4 in the math workbook
* Spelling - Create 10 sentences.  Each one must contain one spelling word.  Underline the complete subject and draw a box around the spelling word.
* Read 20 minutes

If you haven't signed up for Edmodo.com - please do so by the 25th.  The group code is: dt64qe

Reminder:
I will be out on Wednesday and Thursday.  My guest teacher replacement is Mrs. Pittman.  I will return on Friday.  If the students need for any reason at all during that time, they can reach me on Edmodo.

Have a wonderful night!

Happy First Day!

Welcome back! We had a great first day of school - it's going to be a great year!  Here are a few pictures from our "Happy New School Year" celebration this morning as well as some pics from our "Circle of Friends" activity.  Some students did not get a chance to finish the activity so they have taken it home to finish.

Don't forget to return the Parent Info (yellow) form as well as the "All About My Summer" packet by Friday!

Have a great night!
